Lovely clean rooms, friendly staff and service with a lovely breakfast, great location close to town centre, had a lovely walk along peace bridge and around the walls, everyone was very friendly including the locals.
This B&B is very quaint and very close (~10-15 minute walk) to the walls of Derry city centre. We had a very lovely stay here.
The B&B exercises a self-checkin system whereby you are sent the details to a lockbox with a key to the building and your room ahead of time, which is great because you can arrive whenever you like, however I can see this being an issue if you had any questions about the city or if anything was wrong/you needed anything extra in your room as no one is freely available on site. We didn’t need anything, so I can’t comment on the efficiency of getting assistance if needed.
The staircases are very, very narrow. Our room was as the top and there were 4 flights of stairs, although the view was great. The rooms are also very small but our room (#5) did have a ‘bedroom’ plus another room in the entry with a small dressing table with the bathroom adjacent. The bathroom was equally tiny but workable. I’m just over 5 foot tall and felt very cramped in there and I don’t think they’ve made the most of the small space (i.e. the addition of some hooks behind the door and a small shelf below the mirror would have made a huge difference as at the moment I had to leave everything outside in the entry and go back and forth). We only stayed overnight, but I think an extended stay would cause a bit of ‘cabin fever’.
We came out of season and still managed to only just get a parking space. The ‘parking available nearby’ is on-street parking and most is taken up by the residents of the surrounding houses. The walk from Derry is quite steep for a couple of blocks, so keep that in mind if you have mobility issues.
We did a morning walking tour of the Bogside and the murals and this was the perfect location. There are also a good number of places to eat close by and the breakfast in the morning was good, but only available for an hour and a half which I found to be quite a narrow window compared to other B&B’s I’ve stayed at.
Very comfortable, Breakfast was awesome, steep walk back helped burn off some of the Pub Fare and Pints, City centre had plenty of options, 10 min walk,
If your a student of history, definitely recommend the walking Tour, Will book next time without a doubt
Just back from a one night stay. The place was absolutely ideal! Got a parking spot straight outside the door. The owner had emailed instructions before we arrived so getting the keys was quick and easy. Our room was on the top floor, it was spacious and the decor was gorgeous and modern. The bed was super comfortable, it was so comfortable that we slept it out and didn’t make breakfast! Derry was freezing cold last night but our room was perfectly heated and so cozy. Met the owner briefly this morning and she was very friendly and polite! The location was also ideal, only a 5 minute drive to Derry city. It was also great value. Would definitely stay here again when in Derry. Thanks for a lovely stay 🙂
Wonderful hosts and staff, very obliging.Comprehensive breakfast and coffee. Location in Bogside was a comfortable walk into town. The room was a good size for two. The bathroom was compact but functional. The room was very clean and ‘stylishly’ decorated
Had a really great stay at Serendipity House this weekend, email with instructions for key collections was spot on and pick up from drop box was hassle free.
Room was very clean and beds were comfortable – We had a separate bathroom with walk in shower which worked out very well. (other rooms have on suite).
Great breakfast and particularity the fresh fruit alongside a wide choice of cereals and cooked breakfast and a range of eggs cooked to order.
Staff couldn’t have been more helpful & friendly while working with a busy breakfast schedule.
Will book here again when I’m back in Derry, easy walk to city centre and well placed in to visit all the site of interest on the Bogside.
